Authorization in Ons

EN: Please note: this documentation is only available in English.

Care organizations that work with Ons® use Ons® Autorisatie to set up rights and roles for their employees. External integrations can, with some restrictions, make use of this system as well:

  • Provisioning authorizations: Ons® Autorisatie offers the option for third party integrations to provision authorizations. This makes it possible to create integrations that allow user authorizations in Ons® to be set from HR software.
  • Using Ons® Autorisatie in your integration: It is possible for external integrations to define their own rights within Ons® Autorisatie. This means authorization can be fully integrated in the customer’s workflow.

Please note

It is not possible to authorize users based on Nedap-defined rights. Only rights requested specifically for an external integration can be queried.

How does authorization in Ons® work?

Ons® Autorisatie assigns Roles to Users. These Roles can contain 1 or more Tasks, and Tasks contain a set of Rights needed to accomplish the task. It is nested like this:

  • Role A - Assigned to User in Ons®
    • Task X
      • Right 1
      • Right 2
      • Right 3
    • Task Y
      • Right 4
      • Right 5
      • Right 6

For example, a Task for writing reports would need a Right that grants you access to use Dossier in addition to the Right that allows you to write reports. And a Role for a care provider is likely to contain the Task for writing reports in addition to a host of other Tasks.

Scope

Of course, a care provider is unlikely to execute these tasks for all clients in their organization. Most care professionals only need access to a limited set of clients. This is why most Roles are assigned along with a Scope. The Scope determines the clients that the User can work with in the scope of this role.

You can find a functional description of Ons® Autorisatie here. Currently, the information is only available in Dutch.
